Terms & Conditions

 

1. Products

All products are handmade, and slight variations in appearance may occur. Colors, botanical placement, figurines, and sand layers may differ from photos shown on the website or social media.

Botanical candles and lanterns contain natural dried plants, which are flammable materials. Customers must follow all Care & Safety Instructions provided with each product.

 

2. Workshops

Workshop bookings include all required materials. Participants must follow all safety instructions provided during the session.

 

Supervision Requirements

Children under 12 must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

Participants aged 12 and above may attend the workshop without a parent or guardian, provided that:

A parent or guardian has completed the consent form and provided an emergency contact

The participant follows all safety instructions

The participant remains in the designated workshop area

The participant handles all materials, including glass items, responsibly

The participant does not enter the heating area without permission

Ocean Decor Candles reserves the right to stop the session if safety instructions are not followed.

 

Safety Measures Provided by Ocean Decor Candles

Ocean Decor Candles provides a safe workshop environment by:

Marking a designated heating area

Providing safety instructions before the session

Demonstrating proper handling of materials

Monitoring the workspace throughout the workshop

Failure to follow instructions may result in injury or accidents.

 

Mobile Workshop – Cancellation & Payment Policy

Cancellations made 7 days before the party date will receive a full refund of the mobile workshop fee.

Cancellations made within 6 days, including the day before and the day of the event, are not refundable due to material preparation and scheduling.

The mobile workshop fee is paid at the time of booking.

Product fees can be paid one day before the party once the number of children is confirmed (minimum of 4 children).

If the party is cancelled, the product fee will be fully refunded.

Illness, weather, or personal circumstances do not qualify for exceptions to the cancellation policy.

 

3. Payments

Accepted payment methods:

Bank transfer

PayID

Square card payments (online and in‑person)

Payment instructions for bank transfer and PayID are provided directly by Ocean Decor Candles. Please use only official payment details supplied by Ocean Decor Candles to avoid fraud.

 

4. Cancellations – Product Orders

Orders cannot be cancelled once items have been shipped or prepared for pickup.

 

5. Pickup & Delivery

Pickup orders are prepared at the arranged time.

Delivery is handled through local courier services or Australia Post. Delivery fees apply and vary depending on location.

If an item arrives damaged, please contact us with photos within 48 hours. A replacement or refund will be offered for damage occurring during delivery. Refunds cannot be issued for used items.

 

6. General Safety

Customers are responsible for the safe use and handling of all candle products.

Candles must be kept away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and flammable materials. Never leave candles unattended.

Botanical lanterns are LED‑light only. Do not use a real flame inside lanterns unless using the provided glass holder.

 

7. Workshop Safety & Liability

Workshops involve the use of a hot plate to melt gel wax, which can reach temperatures above 100°C. A clearly marked heating area is provided, and participants must not enter this area without permission.

Ocean Decor Candles is not liable for burns, injuries, or accidents resulting from:

Failure to follow safety instructions

Entering the heating area without permission

Improper handling of materials

Lack of supervision of children by parents or guardians

Misuse of glass or hot materials

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children under 12 at all times.

 

8. Glass Materials & Injury Liability

Workshops and products may include glass jars, glass figurines, and other fragile materials. Participants must handle all glass items with care.

Ocean Decor Candles provides safety guidance and removes broken glass when necessary. However, Ocean Decor Candles is not liable for injuries, cuts, or accidents caused by dropped or broken glass or improper handling.

Parents and guardians must ensure children under 12 handle materials safely.

 

9. Botanical Candle & Lantern Fire Hazard Liability

Botanical candles and lanterns contain dried plants, which are flammable. Gel wax may ignite if exposed to direct flame or extreme heat, and botanicals may act as a wick even without a traditional candle wick.

Ocean Decor Candles is not liable for fire, smoke damage, property damage, or personal injury resulting from:

Incorrect or unsafe use

Leaving candles unattended

Placing candles near flammable materials

Using real flame inside lanterns without the provided glass holder

Exposure to excessive heat or sunlight

Any misuse that causes botanicals or wax to ignite

Customers are responsible for following all Care & Safety Instructions provided with each product.

 

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under Australian Consumer Law, Ocean Decor Candles limits its liability for injuries, accidents, or damages resulting from:

Misuse of products

Failure to follow safety instructions

Unsafe workshop behaviour

Lack of supervision of children under 12

Improper handling of glass or hot materials

Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights or guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

By purchasing products or participating in workshops, customers agree to these Terms & Conditions.
